It’s been 2 days since the end of the project, so abruptly that still we can’t realize that’s truly over.
We have lived 5 days of pure and intense emotions that let us understand the worth of such experience.
It wasn’t easy at the beginning, because having a person from somewhere else in the world who doesn’t speak your language caused some embarrassment and confusion for both the hosting families and the foreigner mates.
It didn’t last long, we were truly able to make them blend in such short time that in the end we felt like we had known those people forever.
It wasn’t just about the activities.
It wasn’t just about speaking English.
It was about feeling another person, understanding our cultural differences but finding the similarities.
It was about discussing our culture and laughing together at those things that seemed funny, instead of criticizing one against the other.
Those 20 foreigner students changed us, the way we think and most importantly, the way we face diversity.
There’s nothing better than fighting prejudices, living in and with them.
